Covid-19 has changed the world forever and is changing now faster than ever. Change brings unique challenges to us all and it’s our ability to adapt to it which ultimately determines our successes. At Meee we’re used to change and love the opportunity it brings. We’ve harnessed our best thinking and have developed our Education programmes to meet the opportunities of the ‘new normal’ post Coronavirus. Contact us to find out more.
Education
In order for us to be an active and positive contributor in our communities we need to find our place. What are we drawn toward? What are we doing when we lose track of time? What are our unique gifts that offer up clues to the location of that ‘place’ so that we can find meaning? The need to find meaning is paramount to our health, wealth and wellbeing.
The Meee Education Programmes start with these fundamental principles - looking primarily at the human being in the educational setting rather than the content of the education. The sole purpose is to help every attendee embrace a new, perhaps unfamiliar level of self-belief, personal responsibility and resilience as they go out into the world to apply whatever education they have acquired. Our aims are:
- To empower people to understand and believe in themselves and their abilities.
- To enable all people to personally thrive and grow.
- To be a positive part of their community.
Every young person who completes a Meee Education Programme leaves with a greater understanding of who they are and what is important to them moving forward. They recognise, often for the first time that their mindset is more important than their circumstances and leave with a more sophisticated social and emotional ‘toolkit’.
We believe that it is this social and emotional toolkit that is often missed in traditional educational settings. Yet it’s importance in the development of self-awareness, confidence and resilience is paramount. Often it is not the lack of education or qualifications that let someone down it is their lack of emotional and social intelligence as they enter the workplace.
What we offer
We offer talks, individual and group sessions, courses, workshops and activities that teach a blend of mindfulness, resilience, self-awareness, mindset and personal development, that enable pupils, parents and staff to live happier, more productive and fulfilled lives. These activities are done in or out of the educational environment and we include outdoor, residential and classroom-based activities. We cater for all abilities, mainstream educated, excluded, disengaged and specialist providers.
All of our programmes are evidence based and an impact report will be provided for schools to use in their self-evaluation. Follow up sessions for individuals are included with at least one follow-up six weeks after programme completion. This is to ensure that the desired impact has been sustained or if there is any need for further support or intervention.
To date
We have delivered and piloted Meee Education workshops/talks/seminars to over 2,500 people in 35 schools, colleges and universities in Wales and England (ages 6 to mature students, teachers, staff and parents). We have trialed various formats to test whether the Meee principles work for different age and ability groups, and they do!
All of our education programmes are non-accredited. We truly believe that this offers the best opportunity for all pupils to focus on the process - participation, engagement, learning and fun - rather than the end product.
